2nd AUN-QA Assessors Calibration Workshop

The 2nd AUN-QA Assessors Calibration Workshop was organised by AUN-QA Network from 29 to 30 October 2019, Manila, the Philippines. The 2-day workshop was held for AUN-QA assessors in the Philippines. 

The expected learning outcomes of the workshop are:

  • Distinguish the differences between principles-based and rules-based assessment
  • Differentiate OBE, AUN-QA and other quality assurance frameworks used for programme design and assessment
  • Assess study programme based on the AUN-QA and OBE integrated framework
  • Evaluate the level of OBE implementation
  • Rate AUN-QA criteria and programme
The workshop was facilitated by Mr. Johnson Ong Chee Bin, AUN-QA expert (Singapore) and 14 AUN-QA assessors attended the workshop.

3rd Applied Approach to Designing and Implementing OBE Framework

The AUN-QA Network and Educational Quality International (EQI) collaborated to host the third "Applied Approach to Designing and Implementing Outcomes-Based Education (OBE) Framework" Training Workshop (aka AUN-QA Tier 1 Plus) from 15 to 18 October 2019 in Bangkok, Thailand.

The 4-day workshop was facilitated by Mr. Johnson Ong Chee Bin, AUN-QA Expert and Founder & Principal consultant of EQI and assisted by Dr. Jenny Ngoc (VNU-HCM). The workshop aims to achieve the following learning outcomes:

  • Describe the characteristics of Education 4.0
  • Integrate OBE framework and Plan-Do-Check-Act (PDCA) approach to curriculum design, development, implementation and evaluation
  • Select appropriate strategies to engage stakeholders in curriculum design
  • Apply the principle of constructive alignment to align stakeholders’ needs, curriculum, learning outcomes, teaching and learning, and student assessment
  • Apply revised Bloom’s Taxonomy in writing learning outcomes
  • Select appropriate instructional and assessment methods to achieve learning outcomes
  • Design student assessment rubrics and marking schemes to achieve learning outcomes
  • Evaluate the OBE curriculum for quality enhancement
  • Apply change management in implementing OBE

A total of 23 Participants from universities and institutions in Cambodia, Myanmar, the Philippines, Thailand and Vietnam attended the workshop.

4Ps Approach to International Recognition of Study Programmes

The 4Ps Approach to International Recognition of Study Programmes workshop was held from 8 to 9 October 2019 at Universitas Indonesia, Jakarta, Indonesia. The 2-day workshop was attended by 37 participants from various offices and faculties. The workshop aims to:

  • Develop the assessment plan for a regional/ international recognition of study programme
  • Write the self-assessment report for the study programme
  • Prepare the site for assessment visit
  • Prepare the stakeholders for interviews
  • Apply the 4Ps approach in preparing a study progamme for regional/international recognition







4th AUN-QA Council Meeting and AUN-QA Programme Framework Revision

The AUN-QA programme framework revision and 4th AUN-QA Council meeting were held back to back on 1 and 2 October 2019, Bangkok, Thailand.

The AUN-QA programme framework was reviewed and the proposed changes in version 4 will be implemented tentatively in 2022. The new version will be announced at the coming CQOs meeting in 2020.
