1st Applied Approach to Designing and Implementing OBE Framework

The AUN-QA Network and Educational Quality International (EQI) collaborated to host the first "Applied Approach to Designing and Implementing Outcomes-Based Education (OBE) Framework" Training Workshop (aka AUN-QA Tier 1 Plus) from 23 to 26 January 2018 in Bangkok, Thailand.

The 4-day workshop was facilitated by Mr. Johnson Ong Chee Bin, AUN-QA Expert and Founder & Principal consultant of EQI. The workshop aims to achieve the following learning outcomes:
  1. Describe the characteristics of Education 4.0
  2. Integrate OBE framework and Plan-Do-Check-Act (PDCA) approach to curriculum design, development, implementation and evaluation
  3. Select appropriate strategies to engage stakeholders in curriculum design
  4. Apply the principle of constructive alignment to align stakeholders’ needs, curriculum, learning outcomes, teaching and learning, and student assessment
  5. Apply revised Bloom’s Taxonomy in writing learning outcomes
  6. Select appropriate instructional and assessment methods to achieve learning outcomes
  7. Design student assessment rubrics and marking schemes to achieve learning outcomes
  8. Evaluate the OBE curriculum for quality enhancement
  9. Apply change management in implementing OBE
A total of 28 Participants from universities and institutions in Indonesia, the Philippines, Thailand and Viet Nam attended the workshop.

22nd AUN-QA Workshop for Accomplishing Programme Assessment

The 22nd AUN-QA Workshop for Accomplishing Programme Assessment was held in Bangkok, Thailand from 9 to 12 January 2018.

The 31/2-day workshop aims to introduce the AUN-QA framework and enhance quality assurance practices based on the 3rd version of the AUN-QA framework at programme level. The content of the workshop encompasses:
  • Quality assurance in higher education
  • AUN-QA framework and criteria at programme level
  • AUN-QA quality assessment process
  • PDCA Approach to self-assessment
  • Self-assessment report (SAR) writing
  • Change Management
The workshop was facilitated by Mr. Johnson Ong Chee Bin, AUN-QA Expert together with A/Prof. Tan Kay Chuan from National University of Singapore and Prof. Yahaya Sam from Universiti Teknologi Malaysia. The workshop was attended by 35 participants from 20 universities and institutions in  Indonesia, Malaysia, Philippines, Thailand and Viet Nam.
