AUN-QA Assessors Training Workshop in Bangkok, Thailand

The AUN-QA Assessors Training Workshop was held for universities in Thailand from 18 to 24 June 2015 in Bangkok, Thailand. The workshop was uniquely designed to give a "hyper-real" experience by incorporating both "simulated assessment environment" in the classroom and "live assessment" observation of the 46th AUN-QA Assessment for the Economics study programme at Chulalongkorn University.


The workshop aims to equip participants with the essential competencies to carry out an AUN-QA programme assessment. It covers the following learning outcomes:

  • Apply the PDCA approach in quality assessment;
  • Prepare a quality assessment;
  • Conduct a desktop assessment for a programme;
  • Conduct a site assessment including stakeholders’ interviews, site tour and documentation review; and
  • Write assessment feedback, presentation and report

The workshop was jointly organised by ASEAN University Network (AUN) and Chulalongkorn University. It was attended by 17 participants from Chulalongkorn University, King Mongkut's University of Technology North Bangkok, King Mongkut's University of Technology Thonburi, Mahidol University, Naresuan University, Srinakharinwirot University, and Rajamangala University of Technology Thanyaburi.

Visit to Universitas Islam Negeri Malang, Indonesia

A delegate from ASEAN University Network-Quality Assurance represented by  Dr. Choltis Dhirathiti, Deputy Executive Director; Prof. Dr. Arnulfo A. Azcarraga of De La Salle University; Mr. Korn Ratanagosoom of AUN Secretariat; and Mr. Johnson Ong Chee Bin, AUN-QA Expert (Singapore) was invited to visit Universitas Islam Negeri in Malang, Indonesia on 10 June 2015. The delegate was warmly received by Prof. Dr. H. Mudjia Rahardjo, Rector of Universitas Islam Negeri, Maulana Malik Ibrahim, Malang. An overview of Universitas Islam Negeri was presented by the Rector followed by sharing of AUN-QA activities and quality assurance in higher education.

45th AUN-QA Assessment at Universitas Brawijaya

The 45th AUN-QA Assessment for programme level at Universitas Brawijaya was held from 8 to 10 June 2015 in Malang, Indonesia.Three study programmes, namely; Agricultural Engineering, Biology, and Economics of Development were assessed. The assessment of the Economics of Development study programme was led by Mr. Johnson Ong Chee Bin (AUN-QA Expert, Singapore) with Associate Professor Dr Sany Sanuri Mohd Mokhtar from Universiti Utara Malaysia.
