The PDCA Approach to Curriculum Design and Development was held at the Department of English, Faculty of Cultural Sciences, Universitas Gadjah Mada, Indonesia from 14 to 16 January 2015.
The 3-day workshop was designed and facilitated by Mr. Johnson Ong Chee Bin, AUN-QA Expert (Singapore). The workshop was attended by academic staff from the English Department and representative from the Quality Assurance Office.
At the end of the workshop, participants learn to:
- Apply the PDCA approach to curriculum design and development
- Identify the stakeholders’ needs for curriculum development
- Apply constructive alignment of learning outcomes, teaching and learning strategies and student assessment
- Apply Bloom’s taxonomy in learning outcomes
- Apply appropriate teaching and learning strategies for effective learning
- Design student assessment and rubrics
At the workshop, the following deliverables were made:
- Categorisation of stakeholders
- Competency model for the graduate of the English Programme
- Revised competency domains and programme learning outcomes
- Mapping of course contributions to programme learning outcomes
- Template of constructive alignment for learning outcomes, instructional methods and assessment methods
