Applied Approach to Designing and Implementing OBE Framework at Universitas Indonesia

A 4-day OBE workshop "Applied Approach to Designing and Implementing Outcomes-Based Education (OBE) Framework" was held at Universitas Indonesia, Jakarta, Indonesia from 24 to 27 July 2018. 

The 4-day workshop was designed and facilitated by Mr. Johnson Ong Chee Bin, Founder & Principal Consultant of Education Quality International and AUN-QA Expert . The workshop aims to achieve the following learning outcomes:
  • Describe the characteristics of Education 4.0
  • Integrate OBE framework and Plan-Do-Check-Act (PDCA) approach to curriculum design, development, implementation and evaluation
  • Select appropriate strategies to engage stakeholders in curriculum design
  • Apply the principle of constructive alignment to align stakeholders’ needs, curriculum, learning outcomes, teaching and learning, and student assessment
  • Apply revised Bloom’s Taxonomy in writing learning outcomes
  • Select appropriate instructional and assessment methods to achieve learning outcomes
  • Design student assessment rubrics and marking schemes to achieve learning outcomes
  • Evaluate the OBE curriculum for quality enhancement
  • Apply change management in implementing OBE

A total of 30 Participants from various faculties and offices attended the 4-day workshop.

17th Happiness DNA Public Workshop

The 17th Happiness DNA public workshop was held on 19 and 20 July 2018. The workshop was facilitated by Chief Happiness Coach, Mr Johnson Ong Chee Bin of Living Better in collaboration with ASK Training Pte Ltd. The participants were treated to a recipe of happiness covering the 8 dimensions of happiness DNA namely; Financial Happiness, Health Happiness, Career Happiness, Social Happiness, Environmental Happiness, Mental Happiness, Emotional Happiness and Spiritual Happiness.

Applied Approach to Designing and Implementing OBE Framework at NUOL

A 4-day OBE workshop "Applied Approach to Designing and Implementing Outcomes-Based Education (OBE) Framework" was held at the National University of Laos (NUOL) from 2 to 5 July 2018. The workshop was sponsored by Education Quality International (eqi) as part of its service community project for CLM countries in ASEAN.


The 4-day workshop was designed and facilitated by Mr. Johnson Ong Chee Bin, AUN-QA Expert and Founder & Principal consultant of eqi. The workshop aims to achieve the following learning outcomes:
  • Describe the characteristics of Education 4.0
  • Integrate OBE framework and Plan-Do-Check-Act (PDCA) approach to curriculum design, development, implementation and evaluation
  • Select appropriate strategies to engage stakeholders in curriculum design

25th AUN-QA Workshop for Accomplishing Programme Assessment

The 25th AUN-QA Workshop for Accomplishing Programme Assessment was held in Bangkok, Thailand from 12 to 15 June 2018.

The 31/2-day workshop aims to introduce the AUN-QA framework and enhance quality assurance practices based on the 3rd version of the AUN-QA framework at programme level. The content of the workshop encompasses:

  • Quality assurance in higher education
  • AUN-QA framework and criteria at programme level
  • AUN-QA quality assessment process
  • PDCA Approach to self-assessment
  • Self-assessment report (SAR) writing
  • Change Management

The workshop was facilitated by Mr. Johnson Ong Chee Bin, AUN-QA Expert together with Dr. Evangeline Bautista (Ateneo de Manila University, the Philippines). The workshop was attended by 32 participants from 20 universities and institutions in Cambodia, Indonesia, Philippines, Timor-Leste, Thailand and Vietnam.

EU-SHARE Peer Multiplier Training Seminar

The EU-SHARE “Peer Multiplier Training” (PMT)” Seminar for higher education was held from 4 to 7 June in Jakarta, Indonesia. The seminar was attended by 56 participants from universities and external quality agencies in ASEAN and they were divided into Teaching and Learning Group and External Quality Assurance Group. The seminar aims to equip participants with the toolbox to design, implement and evaluate training activity. Mr. Johnson Ong Chee Bin, AUN-QA expert was one of the key experts in designing and delivering the seminar.

115th AUN-QA Programme Assessment at Can Tho University

The 115th AUN-QA Programme Assessment at Can Tho University was held from 22 to 24 May 2018 in Vietnam. Two study programmes were assessed by AUN-QA Network and the assessment of the Bachelor of International Business at the College of Economics was led by Mr. Johnson Ong Chee Bin (AUN-QA Expert, Singapore) with Dr. Ornlatcha Sivarak from Mahidol University, Thailand.

The 6th AUN-QA institutional assessment was carried out at the University of Malaya (UM), Malaysia from 7 to 12 May 2018. The assessment was led by Mr. Johnson Ong Chee Bin, AUN-QA expert covering strategic, systemic and functional QA, and results.
