Workshop on "Marking Schemes for Student Assessment" at the Faculty of Law and Political Science (FLP)

The workshop on “Marking Schemes for Student Assessment” was held on 21 and 22 September 2021 via synchronous platform for FLP at the National University of Laos as part of the recommendations of the gaps identified in preparation of the AUN-QA programme assessment (version 4) in 2022. The workshop was attended by 60 staff members from the International Relations and Political Science Departments which will be the first two programmes to be assessed by AUN-QA Network. The learning outcomes of the workshop are as follows:

• Differentiate formative and summative assessment;

• Relate AUN-QA criterion 4 to student assessment

• Formulate assessment plan;

• Define the requirements for rubrics and marking (answer) keys;

• Design rubrics for constructed responses; and

• Design marking (Answer) keys for controlled responses

The workshop was facilitated by Mr. Johnson Ong Chee Bin, International Curriculum Development Specialist and Dr. Nguyen Thi My Ngoc, Regional Curriculum Development and QA Standards Specialist.
