Curriculum Design, Development and Evaluation for the Universities in the Greater Mekong Subregion (GMS)

The SEAMEO RIHED Workshop on "Curriculum Design, Development and Evaluation for the Universities in the Greater Mekong Subregion (GMS)" was organised and hosted by SEAMEO RIHED from 3 to 6 October 2016 in Bangkok. The workshop was graced by Dr. Chantavit Sujatanond, Centre Director of SEAMEO RIHED with a keynote address by Prof. Dr. Pratap Singhasivanon, MD, Secretary-General/Coordinator of SEAMEO TROPMED/Network.

The expected learning outcomes of the workshop are:
  1. Apply the Plan-Do-Check-Act (PDCA) approach to curriculum design, development and evaluation
  2. Identify the stakeholders’ needs of a study programme
  3. Map the curriculum of a study programme
  4. Apply Bloom’s taxonomy in writing learning outcomes
  5. Evaluate instructional and assessment methods to achieve learning outcomes
  6. Design student assessment rubrics
  7. Apply constructive alignment of learning outcomes, teaching and learning and student assessment
  8. Apply Context-Input-Process-Product (CIPP) methodology in curriculum evaluation
The workshop was designed and led by Mr. Johnson Ong Chee Bin, Principal Consultant of Educational Quality International (Singapore) and co-facilitated by Dr. Ong Duu Sheng from Multimedia University, Malaysia.

The Workshop was attended by 36 participants from the GMS-UC universities in Cambodia, China, Lao PDR, Myanmar, Thailand and Vietnam.
