13th Happiness DNA Public Workshop

The 13th Happiness DNA public workshop was held on 23 & 24 March 2017. The workshop was facilitated by Chief Happiness Coach, Mr Johnson Ong Chee Bin of Living Better in collaboration with ASK Training Pte Ltd.


The 2-day workshop is based on the principles of positive psychology, and physical, mental and emotional therapies and techniques. It is taught in a unique change methodology where participants first determine the level of their happiness in the eight dimensions of the happiness DNA. How to nurture and sustain the eight dimensions of the happiness DNA is then introduced. The workshop concluded with an action plan to address the gaps in the happiness DNA.

EU-SHARE - Preparatory Training for ASEAN Universities in the Pilot Institutional Assessment

The 2-day preparatory training for ASEAN universities in the EU-SHARE pilot institutional assessment was held on 20 and 21 March 2017, Jakarta, Indonesia. The training was hosted by DAAD and 21 participants from 11 universities in 8 ASEAN countries attended the workshop. The workshop covered regional QA development in ASEAN, AQAF principles, self-assessment process and self-assessment report. Mr. Johnson Ong Chee Bin, AUN-QA expert facilitated the session on "Critical Elements for a Successful Self-assessment Procedure" and world cafe discussion on the differences between SHARE institutional assessment and other ASEAN approaches. The 11 participating universities in the pilot institutional assessment are listed below.

2nd AUN-QA Institutional Assessment at De La Salle University, Philippines

The 2nd AUN-QA institutional assessment was carried out at De La Salle University, Manila, Philippines from 12 to 17 March 2017. The assessment was carried out by 3 assessment panels covering strategic, systemic, and functional QA and results. Mr. Johnson Ong Chee Bin, AUN-QA expert led the functional QA assessment encompassing education, research and service.

Education 4.0 and AUN-QA Framework Seminar at Nguyen Tat Thanh University

Mr. Johnson Ong Chee Bin, Principal Consultant of eqi and AUN-QA Expert was invited to lead the seminar on Education 4.0 and AUN-QA Framework at Nguyen Tat Thanh University, Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam on 8 March 2017. The seminar was graced by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Manh Hung, Chairman of Board of Directors and President of Nguyen Tat Thanh University. Mr. Johnson Ong gave an overview of Industry 4.0 and its challenges and opportunities for higher education in transforming to Education 4.0. This was followed by an overview of AUN-QA Framework at both programme and institutional levels. The seminar was attended by 120 key management staff, deans, heads of department and faculty members of the university as well as invited guests.

AUN-QA Workshop for Accomplishing Programme Assessment (Indonesia)

At the request of the Indonesian Ministry of Research, Technology, and Higher Education, the first workshop on AUN-QA at Programme Level was held on 28 March to 3 March 2017 in Yogyakarta, Indonesia. The workshop was hosted by Universitas Gadjah Mada in collaboration with AUN-QA Network and Indonesian Ministry of Research, Technology, and Higher Education. 

The 4-day workshop aims to introduce the AUN-QA framework and enhance quality assurance practices based on the latest version of AUN-QA framework at programme level (3rd version). The content of the workshop encompasses:
  • Introduction to quality assurance in higher education 
  • AUN-QA framework and criteria at programme level 
  • AUN-QA quality assessment process 
  • PDCA Approach to self-assessment 
  • Self-assessment report (SAR) writing 
  • Change Management 
The workshop was attended by 36 participants from 18 universities in Indonesia namely; Universitas Lampung, Universitas Andalas, Universitas Jambi, Universitas Gunung Jati Bandung, Universitas Negeri Padang, UIN Sultan Thaha Saifudin Jambi, Universitas Airlangga Surabaya, ITS, UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta, Unika Atma Jaya Jakarta, Universitas Sebelas Maret, Universitas Jember, Universitas Prasetya Mulya Jakarta, UNY, Universitas Negeri Surabaya, and Universitas Diponegoro.

The workshop was facilitated by Mr. Johnson Ong Chee Bin, AUN-QA Expert together with Prof. Arnie from the Philippines and Prof. Satria from Indonesia.
