A seminar on "Implementing the ASEAN Quality Assurance Framework in Myanmar" was organised by the University of Yangon on 22 November 2012. The half-day seminar was attended by rectors, pro-rectors, vice-rectors and faculty members from the various universities in Myanmar. Mr. Johnson Ong Chee Bin was one of the two key speakers at the seminar. He shared with the audience on the "Trends in Educational Quality and Beyond". He spoke about the transformation of education in the 21st century and the development of international and regional quality assurance framework.

Enhancement of AUN-QA System Implementation in ASEAN Universities (2nd Workshop)
The second workshop on “Enhancement of AUN-QA System Implementation” for CLM countries was organised by ASEAN University Network, Yangon, Myanmar from 19 – 22 November 2012.
The workshop was facilitated by Mr Johnson Ong Chee Bin and facilitators from the National University of Singapore. The workshop was attended by more than 30 participants and observers from University of Yangon , Yangon Institute of Economics, Myanmar Maritime University , Myanmar Mercantile Marine College, Civil Aviation Training Institute, Mandalay University, and Cooperative University.

The Great Service DNA
The Great Service DNA is a holistic approach for integrating and aligning an organisation’s culture and its people attitude to the customer experience that aims to create, attract and retain its customers for long term business sustainability. Organisations can transform their service from good to great by embracing the Great Service DNA which encompasses culture, attitude and service as illustrated below.
Mr. Johnson Ong Chee Bin presented the above model at the 7th ANQ Congress Tokyo 2009 in Japan.The paper was awarded as one of the outstanding oral papers presented.
The PROCESS Approach to Self-Assessment
Self-assessment is a comprehensive and systematic review of
an organisation’s activities and performance against a
chosen standard (like the ISO 9001/4, AUN-QA, SQA, etc.) or a set of criteria that is critical to
the success of the organisation. The self-assessment should cover the key
activities and performance indicators of the organisation’s business. It should be systematically carried out based on the process and system approach principles. The PROCESS approach is a 7-step process
encompassing Purpose, Readiness, Organisation, Communication, Execution, Self-diagnosis and Sustenance as illustrated below.
The PROCESS Approach to Self-Assessment was presented by Johnson Ong Chee Bin at the "Sustaining Business Success through Quality Management Standards" Seminar at the Launch of SS ISO 9004 : 2009 in Singapore on 11 January 2010.

Quality Assurance and Applying the AUN Standards in UEH
Mr. Johnson Ong Chee Bin was invited as a key speaker at the Quality Assurance and Applying the AUN Standards Workshop at the University of Economics, Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. The workshop was held on 29 October 2012 at UEH and attended by about 100 faculty members. At the workshop, Johnson presented the following topics:

- The Art of Drafting a Self-Assessment Report (SAR)
- From Theory to Practice – Analysing the Formulation of Expected Learning Outcomes and the Course Matrix
- Enhancing the SARs for External Assessment
